Renovation in Obuda started
The renovation project in Obuda is a unique project in Hungary. It is the largest single block in the country. The building has got 886 flats. It is the definite sight emblem of Obuda. The EC, Hungarian government and Obuda provide funding. In 2006 the Consortium Agreement of Staccato is signed. In 2007 the technical content is signed. In 2008 the financing is finished: 40% Municipality and Concerto, 33% Panel Plusz Program and 27% of the owners. And in July 2009 the renovation started.
Measures:
- 10 cm insulation facade and roof – stone fiber insulation with fire strips prevent fire to spread
- Double glased windows
- 1500 m2 solar collectors
- A new heating centre
Obuda expects near 50% decrease in energy costs. In the sample house, based on an entire year monitoring, there is a 47% energy saving. This is without solar heat.
