An important part of the activities of the consortium is the technical and socio-economic research to support the development work as well as the dissemination towards observing communities and national and European networks. The following research activities will be carried out in the community projects as well as on consortium level:

• Technological and market/economic risk assessment, analysis of future market potentials.
• Socio-economic research and analysis relating to integration of energy performance
• Improvement into local community development plans (increasing social cohesion, for example by common information/dissemination activities and the creation of local employment).
• Research on social impacts relating to quality of life, end-users behaviour, cost reduction and added value of energy services.

The research activities are divided into three parts:
1. Common research and monitoring
