Non-technical research
3. The Non-technical research component comprises three sub-items:
• Social: Surveys of residents in order to determine user aspects, (change of) perception of residents, and level of satisfaction. Communication with tenants in order to obtain support for far-reaching sustainable renovations, participation of house owners and insight in the synergy between energy concepts and other values (comfort, indoor climate).
• Economic: Development of financing mechanisms for the realisation of sustainable energy systems, using the chances of the liberalized energy market and the financial/ tax instruments to present a cost neutral offer to the tenants/ house owners. Surveys to determine affordability on household level.
• Policy planning: Creating models to support the parties involved (municipalities, housing associations, tenants, energy companies) to work together on a sustainable energy supply and keep the energy ambitions alive in difficult renovation processes.
